Summary
Light picks up the Death Note but refuses to use it. He leaves it where he found it only for it to be taken by another. This sparks a chain of events that make Light the unwitting prime suspect in the Kira killings and make him the obsession of the Real Kira. Light has to prove his innocence all while just trying to keep his sanity.

Summary
The sun sets in the distance as Yagami Light runs to what must surely be his death. Ryuk doesn't want to wait for him to die in prison, and he's bleeding out. His pride, his livelihood, his Death Note have all been taken away from him. He has nothing, and though he's terribly afraid of death, he knows it's time.
But as fate would have it Beyond Birthday, a serial killer who is believed to be dead, happens to be loitering around in the very same warehouse Light stumbles into. Beyond knows that it's no accident that Kira and him have crossed paths. And, he thinks, that this might be fun. Maybe he will finally have companionship, a friend, or maybe something more...?
The two make a deal. And while all Light wants to do is die, maybe this adventure will show him that there is life after the Death Note. Add in a crazy serial killer who plays loud music and an obnoxious shinigami, and Light's got a new life mission.
