he looked back to the building, just as he did the whole thing collapsed, all hope of getting anything else was lost from him.
he let himself scream, it came out more a pained, strained groan, which made sense because he was in unbelievable pain
the woman shot up, screaming as well, eyes open.
she tried speaking but her voice just cracked, she couldn’t speak, she tried to stand but couldn’t, she was way too weak, he laughed at her, it was humorous considering what he just went through.

It's subtle at first. His shorter temper, leaving his food untouched, following her around. Everybody else writes it off as him being him, but something is clearly wrong.
Then he bursts into her room, shaking and drenched in sweat. He looks desperate and terrified.
“P-Pomni, I…” He lifts a hand to curl loosely over his chest where his heart must be trying to break his ribs. His voice rattles out of him, brittle with emotion. “I’m in heat.”
Her stomach drops through the floor.
