As Robby lifts his shirt up, Dennis is overcome with the need to bury his face in his armpit until he passes out. The gold chain with its Star of David that he always wears rests just below his collar. As Robby strips off, Dennis allows himself a longing look.
Yeah, Dennis admits to himself, he’s down pretty bad.
He’s certain that the fishing trips his brothers took with their dad didn’t have this additional complication – that of the man taking them being so hot they’d want to cry. Trinity’s comment, ‘daddy wants to take you to the woodshed,’ bounces around in Dennis’s head.

Frank turns to face her, which makes her look at him. His eyebrow is raised, an expression of focus on his face. “I think I want you to take a break.”
Mel laughs, glances away before making eye contact again. “That’s a funny joke.”
“No, I'm serious. Mel, go take fifteen,” he says with a firm tone.
“But I don’t need a break.”
Frank places a gentle, yet strong, hand on her shoulder. Mel glances down at it, a bit too stunned to speak; her brain trips over itself. Frank rarely touches her like this. It should be overstimulating — and if it were anyone else, it very well might’ve been — but instead the weight of his hand on her shoulder grounds her. Becomes an anchor.

The glasses softened him—they brought out a boyish eagerness to the slant of his nose, straightened his strong brow, dulled the cut of his cheekbones. He transformed into someone nice, who arrived at the lecture hall five minutes early to secure his preferred, front and center seat. A patron who always turned in his borrowed library books on time; left a detailed Yelp! review when he tried a new restaurant he enjoyed. The person who fumbled his way through a drive-thru order, even if he spent the minutes his car inched forward in line reciting his preference aloud, fearing he would mess up; went out of his way to crunch the crisp fall leaves under his boots during Tuesday afternoon walks over to the farmer's market; who clasped his lover’s hand tight whenever he held it, fearing the other would evaporate if he ever let go. A doctor, who thought he had all of his emotions under control, until he didn’t.
Frank looked exactly like her.

“Doctor Abbot,” Noelle smiles as she approaches him. She’s wearing a pencil skirt today, Jack notes. Must be the Friday vibes. “I wasn’t expecting you at this hour.”
“I'm covering for Robby,” Jack shrugs, looking at her evenly. He makes a point to keep his face blank.
“Is he out sick?” Noelle’s brows furrow.
Oh. Well, this will be fun.
“Nope,” Jack says, popping the ‘pe’ as hard as he can. “It’s his boyfriend’s birthday today.”
