“No, you’re going to fucking listen to me for once. There are people that care about you, Leon. People that want you to come home in one piece. Sherry isn’t ready to bury you. Neither is Claire or Jill or-” Chris sucked in a breath, composing himself. “I thought I lost you. I know why you stopped calling, after Claire’s party.” Chris looked down at his boots, voice trailing off.
Leon still couldn’t bring himself to respond. He could see the vulnerability in Chris’ face, it cracking through his usual composed facade.
“And listen…I could live with that. It-it sucked, not seeing or hearing from you but at least I knew you were fucking alive.”-----------
Leon joins Chris on what was supposed to be an easy mission, but it goes south. Leon is naturally defiant against Chris and gets hurt. Leon realizes he needs to confront his feelings for Chris, before they both lose each other. -

He freezes, staring across the table, his beer inches away from his lips. “What?”
Leon’s expression turns into something he doesn’t particularly like, and something in his stomach twists.
“Do you think I’m hot?”
What feels almost like some kind of malfunction whites out his brain for a moment, and his mouth is open for far too long before he can piece himself together enough to dredge up a reply. Leon watches him silently the entire time, but he doesn’t have the mental capacity to worry about that as he considers his response.
“I don’t…I don’t know. Leon, I’ve known you since we were kids.” He finds it more difficult to speak, heart rate picking up as he sets his beer down and runs a hand over his face, the cool condensation a minor relief against his heated skin.
“Answer the question."
When Leon is left heartbroken by an ex, Chris finds he's the one Leon relies on to help pick up the pieces. But by doing so, their blossoming friendship might turn into more than he'd ever expected...
