Yet as Hermione watched, the man’s wife distanced herself from her husband, a strange pureblood foil to herself and Ron. The wife knelt down to say goodbye to their son again, slyly shifting her shoulder ever so slightly to avoid the man’s touch. Hermione watched as the man’s face tightened in anger before calming again into a stilled pond.
And at that moment, Hermione realized that perhaps things weren’t so wonderful in their marriage, either.
And it was at that moment, too, that Hermione decided today was the day. She could put it off no longer.
Because Draco Malfoy looked miserable. And she would be damned if she looked miserable, too.
