While he sat on the side of the road, waiting for the tow company with his dad who was prattling on about ice cream for some reason, something clicked in Steven's mind. No matter what he did, no matter how much he messed up, they would never see him for the monster he was. For Christ's sake, he just totaled his dad's van and house with one outburst, and he's talking about how proud he is.
Beach City wasn't a home, not anymore, it was now a miserable cesspit of pity and failed expectations, a poisonous mix that would rot his organs one by one. He needed to get away, it didn't matter where.

A Second Chance.
Shen Jiu couldn't believe it. After having a strange dream where he spoke with two mystical figures, he was granted a new chance at life.
However, he has a mission: to raise, this time properly, the little beast that tortured and killed him in his last life.
Though he was reluctant and wanted to solve the problem at its root (by directly killing the beast), the mystical figures didn't allow it.
He had to raise the beast, help it grow strong, and become a worthy Lord of Demons.
For what?
So it could kill him again?
However, Shen Jiu could only grit his teeth and accept the conditions. When and how he fulfilled them wasn’t specified. He could do it his way.
Returning to his harsh and horrible childhood, he decides not to make the same mistakes and escape from the Qiu with his Qi-Ge.
Wait a moment.
