It was dark and I didn’t realize your man was trying to assist me, so I failed to see that he wasn’t the mugger he scared off.” He tried to smile at the lie, like it was an easy mistake anyone could make.
“You aren’t half dumb, are you, mate?” The Angel smiled, teeth glinting in the dim light cast by the shadows of his own wings. If it weren’t for the ropes holding Quackity to the chair, he might have even mistaken the words for friendly. “You spin a pretty story, and if it wasn’t my son you gave that black eye to, I might have even been persuaded to let you go.”
Quackity never wanted to get on the Syndicate's bad side. Good thing the Angel of Death is an exhausted father who just wants someone to keep his kids from fighting.
