Xie Lian gets on his knees, places his hands on top of the microfiche filing cabinet, and uses it as leverage to pop up as he asks, “Ling Wen, did they have chocolate chip today?”
The bright smile he had ready to persuade her to share falters when he sees the person standing by the clerical desk is not, in fact, Ling Wen. Instead, he finds himself staring at a tall man with black hair braided over one shoulder and a backpack strap on the other. Between his strong jaw, sharp eyes, and the slight smile that’s bordering on mischievous, he’s certainly one of the most handsome people Xie Lian has ever seen.
“They did,” he says, his voice deep and alluring and Xie Lian almost wants to give him a random journal so he can read it aloud.
