“Personal issues?” Connor parrots, sarcasm heavy on his lips, “How can he expect me to be in the same room with him much less work with him after…,” his hand circles in the air in front of him trying to conjure a work-place appropriate term for what had passed between them.
Amanda’s sharp voice cleaves his attempt in half, “You could try to grow up.” As was always the case, Amanda makes Connor feel smaller than a crumb dropped from a stale loaf of bread.

Connor made the somewhat catastrophic mistake of bedding his boss. When unforeseen consequences leave him without a job and unable to work in his field, he turns to a new project with lucrative potential--restoring old homes. Having no renovation experience, Connor seeks the aid of an experienced contractor. There is no way this idea could go south, right?

There was no Markus and no android uprising. The RK800 prototype Connor and Lieutenant Hank Anderson of the Detroit PD are stuck in a reluctant partnership, investigating a few isolated incidents of the problem known as deviancy. Progress is slow and resentment is mutual, but they have to pass the time somehow - if sometimes that means sloppy sex in the back of Hank's car, it's nobody's business but their own.

Summary
"You know what a green card marriage is, right?" Hank asks.
"Sure," Connor says, dimly amused, because Hank was sweet to come all the way up to Canada, but this is ridiculous. "Who am I marrying?"
What Connor intends to say next is that he isn't that desperate, that his life here might not be what he would pick for himself but that it's also perfectly fine, until Hank pulls a little box from his pocket and opens it.
"I mean," Hank says, "I'm sure you have other options, but I'm offering. As your friend."

Like so many other androids, Connor goes to Canada after the revolution. Android autonomy may have been granted, but things are still dangerous, and he doesn't want Hank to get hurt for protecting him. It was never supposed to be a permanent solution, but by early 2040, a number of legal developments have made it such that androids can only return to the states if they're marrying a citizen.
Connor wants to come home. Jeff wants him back on the force. And Hank just wants him back.

Summary
Connor is convinced that sexual intercourse would be of great benefit to Hank's physical and emotional well-being, but the man is highly resistant to the idea. Hank's objections are not unreasonable, but there is one simple solution that will address all of the issues - Hank should have sex with Connor.
The last thing Connor expects when making the suggestion is for his partner to be upset and offended by the idea of 'using' him. Hank claims he won't do it because Connor doesn't 'want' it, but Connor is the one who offered in the first place.
What's the difference between 'willing' and 'wanting'? Connor needs to do some investigating.
