He was fired the next week. Flamed by the iron tongue of his superiors, barely able to scoop the shards of his mind off the ground to walk out with all his pieces. Little splinters were left behind in that godforsaken shack, some in the floorboards of his sheriff's department, some embedded into the pallid sand of Texas.
He had been gutted by the knife of his devotion, left to lay where he was felled and entirely rid of his sense of faith.or, Soap works as a police officer before running into a right mess, ending up with his uncle in Alaska for a bed and some work. And ghost is there too, only not quite human and a little more on the side of unimaginable horror.

Summary
Omegaverse AU: Where it’s common for alphas in the military to regularly engage the services of omegas, in order to prevent ruts interfering with their work.
When alpha Ghost invites alpha Soap to share an omega for that very reason, Soap expects a night of awkward, one-sided sex that he’ll inevitably regret. Because even alphas as close as they are can become dangerously territorial, when omegas are involved.
Maybe it’s a good thing, then, that the omega never shows up at all.

Summary
So, Soap’s a big guy. Obviously.
He’s not overly tall, but he’s wide in the shoulders and thick in the thighs. He’s the kind of big that’s naturally built all over: training muscles on top of mission muscles on top of an innate bulk.
He’s the kind of big that makes him immovable to most guys.
The kind of big that’s always been -ger than most everyone else—if not by height, than at least by heft.
So when they’re on mission and Ghost spots a grenade before Soap does, and, with no time to warn him, grabs him by the waist and flings him back behind cover, gear and all, Soap’s really not expecting to think much about it, aside from maybe, ‘Oh, shit.’
What he thinks instead is: ‘Oh-hmm.’
And then, in rapid succession: ‘Big.’

Or, Soap realizes that Ghost is bigger than him. His dick realizes that’s hot.
