“What if I hadn’t been there? What if-” She paused for a moment, biting her tongue before her anger faded into frustration. “What if I hadn’t come in time?”
Childe watched as the burning flames in her gaze cooled into something softer, something that made his chest tighten and pulse quicken at the same time.
“You were worried.” He realized, and the brief flash of sadness in her eyes was enough to confirm his suspicions.
She was worried about him. Lumine had always known that Childe was able to take care of himself, so to see her this worried must mean that it really was a close call.
And that seemed to have scared her more than she would admit- or he had expected.
“I was.” Lumine confirmed, a sigh following her words as her gaze dropped to his wound, eyes growing dull. “A lot.”
Childe watched her expression for a few more moments, wanting to engrave her expression into his memory.
She was worried. She cared.
And seeing that was more comforting after weeks of recovering alone with only her on his mind than anything else could ever be.

So he betrays her. His sparring partner.

Except Dottore's plan turns out to be surpass his imagination for the doctor injects Lumine with a drug that renders her powerless and aroused. It's when he tells his underlings to have their fun with her as they observe the side-effects that Tartaglia takes it upon himself to betray her completely.

She yelped, shoving her back against the tree, finger pointing accusingly at the canid. “Y-you! You spoke!”
Another slow blink as he rolled onto his belly. “You might not have noticed...” His voice dripped with mirth as he pushed himself to his feet. “...but I'm not a normal fox.”

She ends up depending on the least possible person that she will ever seek help for. She didn't even expect he will accept her request since it's pretty ridiculous.
She doesn't blame Amber for suggesting the scheme.
She doesn't blame Xiangling for giving her his name.
She doesn't blame Yoimiya for pushing her to do it.
She will never blame Klee even if her being playmates with him added "some" charm encouraging her to ask him.
She will also not blame Paimon for not even stopping her because in the end...The only one he can blame is herself.
This her responsibility and her own decision......and that is to ask the 11th Fatui Harbringer codenamed Childe to be her pretend boyfriend just because of an unknown stalker.
She maybe compared to a celestial god but she is a girl that has fears... one of them is the fear of the unknown!

The feeling of the rough leather trailing hotly over the lush curve of her waist made her shiver beneath his touch, the feathery caress leaving a burning trail in its wake that made her blood pulsate hotly with a need so overwhelming that dared to devour her whole.
“You know, maybe I have been too lenient with you.” He husked against the curve of her neck, hot breath fanning against her flushed skin and when gloved fingers suddenly moved to grab her creamy thighs and sharply pulled her down against him, he leaned back to gaze hungrily down at her.
Her pulse raced when his leather-clad fingers brushed over the inside of her thigh, fingers fisting the sheets beneath her and when he she felt his digit hover dangerously close to her already dripping heat, a soft whimper spilled from her swollen lips.
“But don't worry.” He husked, his deep voice laced with an authority that made her breath hitch in her throat as the leather burned her skin. “I will make sure to change that.”

“Actually, Aether is not home right now.” Lumine whispered at last. Her voice was shrill. “He suddenly texted me, saying that he has group work with Xiao and Albedo. He is staying over at Albedo’s tonight.”
Ajax’s eyes widened. He never expected this development.
“You know, today is my turn to cook and I always cook in the morning so I can just reheat it later. I made two portions, like usual, one for me and one for Aether. And you know I am not rich like you, so I hate being wasteful more than anything. But Aether just told me without warning that he will stay over tonight, so...” Lumine explained, but her explanation was convoluted. She was nervous, Ajax noticed, her golden eyes refusing to meet his and her face red. “So what I am saying is… I made too much dinner today… And I am wondering if maybe, just maybe... you can come over and help me finish it?”
