Summary
Ever since the new farmer girl arrived in town, Haley started feeling things she never felt before.
It all got worse when Sofia started bringing gifts to her. Every day, she would find herself waiting for the farmer to show up at her door. She pretended to not be affected by it, to not have any interest in the girl. In fact, she was lying to herself, telling her mind and racing heart she just liked to be spoiled. But even if she was brutally honest with the farmer girl — and sometimes just straight up mean — she always came back to her doorstep with a smile.
But it all went downhill when she found out the farmer had been gifting other girls in town. Poppies for Penny, amethysts for Abigail...what once made her feel special, was being shared with others.
All those days she thought she had been warming up to Sofia, being genuinely happy to have her attention, they were all gone in a second. And once the farmer showed up with another stupid sunflower in her hand, Haley couldn't help but feel frustrated.
"Urgh, this is such a...stupid gift"

Summary
Haley loves her life, she is young, beautiful and in her prime. Yeah she was stuck in this small town but hey whatever she did fine, modelling hadn’t been going as well but she’d get it sorted. Haley was set and content that was for sure, nothing was wrong and she was ready for the life that was expected of her, she doubted anything could change her mind on that. She'd heard the farmers daughter had moved to town which was... annoying she guessed she'd have to avoid another smelly farmer.

"There’s a new farmer." Alex said, smug satisfaction on his face.
Another lick of the ice cream as Alex got another ready for her, "You're joking." Haley put the empty cone in the reusable bag he hung off the end, fresh from a purchase at footlocker.
“I’m not. Moved here a few days ago, actually. Rumor is she hasn't left the farm yet, and every time Lewis checks on her she's hacking away at weeds.” Alex didn’t seem to find it amusing, more inspiring. “What motivation she must have. You think she's even slept?"
"I could care less." Haley reached for her ice cream.
"Couldn't."
Haley looked up to see a woman her age leaned against the bridge, smiling slightly. One hand held her up against the stone and the other held a barrel of blueberries to her hip like a fanny pack.
“Pardon?"

The farmer moves into the valley and Haley has no idea how to handle the way she makes her feel.
