"Burrowers are rare, most people don't use slugthrowers anymore. Sure, the Tusken Raiders still use Cycler rifles, but most people prefer relatively clean blaster bolts to an old-fashioned slugthrower shooting physical metal. The exception is the Burrower, which blends the old tech of a slugthrower, with more modern droid tech. Once a Burrower slug enters the body, it burrows, ripping further and further, hitting as many vital organs and arteries as it can and causing excruciating pain along the way. If a person is hit with a Burrower and the slug isn’t gotten out quickly enough that person will die, no matter how direct the initial hit."
