Summary
The asteroid that killed the dinosaurs was already going pretty fast. It hurt, pretty bad. Nothing like playing asteroid dodgeball at all. Funnily enough, it only put him off asteroid dodgeball for about fifty-thousand years. Kinda long, when he looks back at it now, but they didn’t really measure time back then. Things were either a short time, or a long time. Sometimes even a medium time, if you felt like breaking the mold. Either way, afterwards he felt kind of stupid for thinking he would’ve been able to change anything anyways. The things they do only matter if it’s inconvenient for them. That’s what Saturn says, at least. Or, said, one time and very off-handedly.
“Oh no, his move was so bad he died,”
Someone is waving obnoxiously in front of his eyes. Ugh. He’s kind of in the middle of something here.
“What?” Earth complains, swatting Mars’s hand away.
“Don’t what me, dude,” Mars says, but he doesn’t sound upset. He just looks a little amused.
The Sun doesn’t talk to any of them anymore, time moves a lot slower now which is an unrelated phenomenon, and recently, Earth has been star-gazing a lot more.

Jupiter was tempted to turn around. To run, to catch up to the ice giant, to beg him for forgiveness and to please come back. X didn't like him- hated him, which was his right. But even if Jupiter kept the asteroid belt in check- why did that have to mean Planet X couldn't be part of their Solar System? Why did that mean he had to be alone, so awfully isolated, away from his home? Jupiter knew X wanted to come back.
So why did he leave so easily on his own? What happened when Jupiter was banished? What did he-

Jupiter yelped at the sudden voice, actually flinching back into the darkness once more. His anticipation spiked, his heart racing as he glanced up toward the Kuiper Belt- and locked eyes with-

His heart stopped, and his breath stuttered. But then he blinked and looked again.
Neptune smiled at him.

"I'm not talking to you!" The smaller yelled while turning, clenching his hands into fists angrily. Earth had that stupid, shit-eating grin on his face that Venus hated- and so did Luna, clearly, who was shaking his head with disappointment.
"Wha- what did I do?" The living planet asked, tilting his head confusedly. Behind him, Venus felt even Mercury glare daggers at him- which. Wow. The pipsqueak would never voice his thoughts out loud, though.
That's what Venus was for.
Angry, loud, horrible Venus.
"Well, I didn't drag half the solar system out, now did I?" Venus huffed, ignoring the guilt that comment caused to bubble to his molten surface.
The evil surface. The surface the livings called literal hell.
That hadn't cooled down even the slightest bit. Not even in Earth's orbit.
Or
Despite now orbiting in the Goldilocks zone, Venus' surface did not change.
...His neighbours' certainly did, though. Perhaps not in the best way.
