“I stepped away.” Bruce’s voice was dangerously flat. “I was gone for less than ten minutes.”
“Ten minutes is a lifetime in space battles, Spooky. You know what? I don’t care. I just flew, like, seventeen light-years and mediated an alien war. My spine is killing me. Find another seat.”
“There is no other seat.”
“There’s a whole room of—" Hal looked around. For the first time, his sleep-deprived brain actually registered the designs. “Oh.”
“Move.”
“No.”
“Lantern.”
“Nope. Nope nope nope.”
or the one where a furniture mishap leaves exactly one good seat in the Watchtower lounge, Hal won't give it up, Bruce won't back down, and somewhere in three weeks of stubborn proximity, they both stop wanting the space and start wanting each other.

Shoes was helping herself to the parts of a motorcycle that was way too nice to be left unattended at night in this part of town. It was sure to be a decent pay out, until she heard the stupid robot voice call out from behind her, “You know, this is like some fucked-up, backwards deja vu for me.”
She tensed for a moment but didn’t bother turning to see the Red Hood there. At some point after the big bad crime boss started giving her tips on how to get away with stealing or offering her his fucking jacket in the cold, he started to lose his edge of intimidation. Instead she focused on removing the back tire of the bike and saying, “This is just some routine maintenance.”
