Summary
Ten years ago, Katara confessed her darkest secret to Fire Lord Zuko and he chose the world over helping her. Katara then spent the next ten years in the South Pole avoiding him - avoiding her friends, avoiding her family. Now an Earth Kingdom village is dying, and the pair is forced back together to uncover what's buried beneath it. Over the next two weeks, the unsaid has a way of finding its way to the surface and both Katara and the Fire Lord learn that some currents are stronger than the people swimming against them.
This story is set fifteen years after the 100 year war, and is a divergence from the canon of ATLA at this point. This story centers around Katara and Zuko in their 30's, navigating a strained relationship while working to save a sick island. There are explicit moments mixed into the story, and plenty of internal strife.
If you’re just wanting spice it's in 6, 7, 8, and 12!

Summary
Sun and moon meeting, she recalls from the poem, lovers brushing past, passed, paths—
Master Katara leans closer, standing on tiptoes, whispers something into the Fire Lord’s ears. Fire Lord Zuko grins, wide and sweet like a crescent moon. Shula watches a spring blossom softly land between them, like a nudge from the spirits, an answer, a call—like an inevitable, breathing thing, already sewn into the crevasses of their souls, already tied into the beats of their pulse.

Summary
This was just… convenient. Maybe a symptom of avoidant behavior to ward off the prospect of a real relationship, genuine vulnerability. An immature indulgence unbecoming of a Fire Lord and one of his appointed ambassadors-slash-childhood enemy-slash-friend. A perverse method of self-preservation.
A dry bark of a laugh is scraped from her throat.
Didn’t feel much like she was preserving anything.

Summary
She promised herself she would love Aang as deeply as her heart was capable. She would offer him all the devotion she had once yearned to give to another. But that other man had rejected her. He had handed her over to Aang. And now, she loathed the fact that only within his embrace did she finally feel happy.
This story was born from the gaps the feature film left behind: Zuko’s vanished lightning scar, the silence between him and Katara, and everything that might have happened before they reached that point.
