It’s not for lack of offering; the bottles occasionally appear in his temples, even if his worshippers should know better than to give him earthly temptations, and other gods have warily invited him to drink on special occasions. He accepts the shared cup during the Battle of the Lanterns, an exception to his otherwise tightly controlled cultivation, but a sip is only a sip…
Drinking expressly with the purpose to be drunk is another matter, and one that he avoids.

Summary
Midday, on a beach that’s… somewhere, though he can’t exactly say where. The shapes of mountains loom inland, peering behind dreary clouds. This must not be the far south, which has white sand and shady palms under which to drink wine, and Shi Qingxuan really, really could use some wine right now given the dryness in his mouth.
