Summary
“Connie is awake, at 3AM, for an hour every night. Nothing we do changes this.” Lisa sighed. “I fell asleep at my desk yesterday! And don't think she's happy with being put in her crib, she'll start crying if you put her down – and she needs to be looking at your face at all times. Pure eye contact. For an hour.”
“Then at 4AM, it's either lights out, or she's awake ‘til 9.” Carla said. “That's weird, right? Is it weird?”

Summary
Lisa just looked stunned, and Carla started to panic a little.
"It's not illegal, is it? You can't arrest me for … public indecency, or summat?"
"Carla -" Lisa swallowed. "Are you really going to make me sit through dinner?"
Oh, Carla thought, the smirk back on her face. That's why she was looking so wide-eyed.
"Yes, darling." Carla leant forward, her voice a purr. "We're going to eat dinner, celebrate it being a Wednesday or summat, and then, if you're very good, I've got us a room upstairs. Does that sound like something you're up for?"

“What?” Lisa said defensively, as everyone looked at her.
“Lise, it's going to be hotter than the devil's backside today, why in God's name are you in a shirt and trousers?” Carla said, and Lisa looked at her, frowning slightly.
“It's what I wear to work!”

Summary
“I get that.” Carla offered. “After Peter left – took me ages to be able to fall asleep on my own again. I can't imagine how hard it is for you.”
Of course Carla had worked out the real reason for her sleepless nights immediately.
“Yeah.” Lisa bit her lip. “It's been three years and I still... I still find it impossible.”
or - lisa hasn't had a full night's sleep since her wife died, and carla offers to come over so she doesn't sleep alone - but how will sharing a bed work, when they're both falling for eachother?

Summary
This girl had been hanging on her every word for the past few hours, showering her with compliments, laughing at just about everything she said and even dragging her out for a dance. Carla would be lying if she told herself she hadn’t enjoyed the attention. And — be it because she apparently had a thing for blonde women or simply because this particular one was gorgeous — there was no denying that Carla was attracted to her. But something about that made her uneasy, even with all the alcohol in her system, even though she had no real reason to feel guilty.
Or;
Having moved back into No. 6 after "ending" things with her still-legally-married-to-a-resurrected-woman fiancée, a contract renewal meeting brings about the return of two people Carla hasn't seen in a while: Posh Gareth and Jealous Lisa.

Summary
AU. A deviation from Carla's psychosis storyline.
While deep in the grips of psychosis and hiding out at her childhood home-turned-squat, Carla is arrested and sent to Norcross, where she meets Betsy Swain. The two form an unlikely friendship.
When Carla is released early on licence, she is placed in a halfway house to finish out her sentence. After a violent run-in with another resident, she is forced to look for alternative accommodation. All she has to do is convince Lisa Swain that letting a complete stranger and ex-con move in with her is a good idea...
Slow burn.
Carla's life is mostly canon up until her psychosis, but the Swains I have moulded to fit into this AU timeline
Complete.

Summary
In Lisa Swain’s world, happiness has always been a debt. If you feel good, you are about to pay for it. If you love someone, you have handed them the weapon they will use to gut you.
When Lisa realises she's falling in love with Carla Connor, she brings more than just "baggage". She brings a set of rules - a psychological ledger of punishments, transactions, and "armour" designed to survive a wife who treated her like property.
Carla wants to offer her a home. Lisa is just waiting for the punishment to begin.
This story takes place in the universe where Becky is dead, prior to Carla & Lisa getting engaged and buying number 6.
Warning: This story contains a raw and graphic exploration of the long-term psychological and physical effects of domestic abuse. It includes depictions of past marital rape, emotional coercion, gaslighting, and scenes of self-punishment/distress. It is a story about the agonizing, non-linear process of unlearning terror. Please prioritize your mental health before reading.
