Percy’s always known he was a bit different from the other children. The other children didn’t have sharp teeth or claws. The other children didn’t have scales or gills. The other children weren’t able to detect when someone was coming up behind them by the way their footsteps sounded, even if you were across the street. The other children couldn’t see the future or the past in their dreams or flashes of someone's fate when he looked at them. They weren’t able to hear the sound of someone’s breath from 30 feet away.
But Percy was okay with that. He didn’t need any of the other kids. They stayed away from him even if they couldn’t see his ever-changing eyes that could stare into your soul or his too-long fingers with claws instead of nails. But that was okay, he told himself, he had his Mom, Auntie Bronze, and Apollo, and that was all he needed.

Well, Evie goes there with five years of training for the Healer quadrant and a determination to defy her father's expectations and survive. She will be independent and uncontrollable.
Her determination naturally catches the attention of Wingleader, who dislikes surprises and people whose next moves he can't predict.
Evie has already decided which side of the war she will be on, she does not yet have all the information and it is only a matter of time before she accidentally learns more things that can greatly affect her decision.
