-Vi was in the arena, black hair stuck on her face by sweat and blood; her body was visibly battered, her stance off, no technique in her punches, just brute force. She was winning, but Sevika could only think how the girl seemed to fight only to be beaten. She didn’t go down, at least not for long, but she didn’t even try to dodge or really defend herself. She just took hit after hit, punching back when she had the possibility-
Sevika goes to the pit to reassure Jinx that her sister is fine, what she finds is not what she expected: Vi is spiraling and Sevika has no intention to let her die.

It was more than kindness, however, that kept Vi by Caitlyn’s side; the former was lost, caught between two warring worlds in a manner that could not be rectified. She had no home in Zaun, where Silco’s old goons would stop at nothing to fetch the pride of her head on a spike. Aside from Caitlyn, she was valued as a tool rather than a human, of no use when her fists weren’t swinging in Piltover’s favour.
She’d let go of the childish wish for a family long ago and resigned herself to avenging the integrity of Caitlyn’s, no matter how it pained her. Perhaps, between the two of them, Vi was the one who’d lost herself the most.

She knew her, but also knew Vi didn't exactly consider them on the best of terms, often starting brawls that would clear the space in anticipation of the melee. But when she started to slip off the barstool, like slow motion in real time, Sevika was up, catching her under the arms before she even fully registered what she was doing. A favor for old time's sake, maybe.

Caitlyn traced one with her fingertip before snapping the book shut, heart pounding.
