Percy adjusted his glasses and straightened his tie, perpetually looking slightly disheveled. "So, uh, big fan of Superman?" he asked, observing the article she was typing on her laptop.
She scoffed. "More like a fan of seeing my name on the byline and making the cover."
"Come on, Annabeth, he's awesome. You have to admit it," Percy said with a smile, finally addressing her by her first name.
"Maybe," she replied hesitantly. "But don't his powers ever worry you? He could demolish the city if he wanted to."
"I suppose he could..." Percy responded. "But he would never do that. Superman helps people; he doesn't harm them."
"You sound like you know the guy, Smallville," Annabeth countered.
Percy simply shrugged, rolling his eyes at the nickname she had coined when he first started working at the Planet. Although the nickname annoyed him when others used it, it didn't bother him as much when she said it.

Shane wants to figure out if he's gay before he gets drafted—and no, the way he felt when Ilya Rozanov smirked at him with a cigarette between his lips in Saskatchewan has nothing to do with it. Unfortunately, the random guy he hooks up with to try and make sure one way or another takes a picture, and Shane gets outed before the draft. In the ensuing scandal, he goes seventh overall, to Ottawa.

Summary
Shane Hollander was considered one of the calmest guys in the league, the least confrontational. He hardly got into fights. If there was an all-out brawl, he would join in to protect his guys, but he wasn’t an instigator, except for the one time he truly tried to fight Scott Hunter. And it was Scott Hunter for godsake. He gave media trained answers and hardly argued with refs. His social media was clean cut with no controversial posts.
But that didn’t mean that Shane didn’t get angry. Wouldn’t defend the people he loved. He knew how to chirp back. He played hockey his whole life and knew how to throw a punch. Maybe he wouldn’t try it against an enforcer or anything, but he could hold his own if he wanted. It’s also not like his husband didn’t spend multiple hours after they got outed making sure that Shane could handle all the extra attention they were about to receive on the ice.
Five times Shane Hollander defended the people he loves, plus one time they defended him.
