Summary
Before him, the lightsaber began to hover. In much the same way that Obi-Wan had when he had entered, it rose between them, coming to rest within their shared eyeline. Then, the universe itself unfolding, the lightsaber stretched apart.
At first, it was almost an optical illusion. For a moment, there was the lightsaber, then the lightsaber in pieces, and then there was only light.
Cody exhaled, a slow breath of awe. Of something like surrender. It was the final breath out as he stepped forwards into nothingness.
Cody falls in love with Obi-Wan, it feels a lot like drowning. Or, I wanted to write codywan huddling for warmth and now, almost 6k words later, here we are.

“Dr. Kenobi,” the man with glasses says, recovering quickly, “but you may call me Obi-Wan, of course.” He extends a graceful hand.
Cody shakes it—maybe a little too firmly. “Cody,” he says. “Just Cody.”
“Pleasure, just Cody,” Obi-Wan chimes.
Cody narrows his eyes at the regrettable attempt at humor, but does not engage further. “If you’ll excuse me,” he says. “I still have to study ideal routes.” True to his word, he turns right back to his maps.
“Is he always like this?” he hears Obi-Wan whisper to Rex.
“Pretty much,” Rex says cheerfully, steering him away.
Or: Cody & Obi-Wan get stuck in a cave. The cave may or may not contain eldritch horrors.

Bail couldn’t be entirely sure of course, as he hadn’t heard it straight from the man’s mouth, but Obi-Wan’s actions had always been clearer than his words, particularly if one considered his friend’s perspective on the truth.
It would seem, from the few scattered interactions that Bail had witnessed during this last passing year of Reconstruction, that one very dignified Jedi Master might just be harboring secret feelings for one equally estimable Marshall Commander. Furthermore, Bail had come to notice, with no small amount of glee, that those feelings just might be returned.
