Summary
Being a normal, healthy, human being, Robert Small was rightly terrified of many things. The Dover Ghost, entropy, Jacob dying without him and Stacey ever confessing their love for each other in the series finale of The Good Hunter, and now demons were also part of the list. Life was short and humans were damn squishy, a healthy dose of fear was something that kept you alive.
Right now, he was terrified that Joseph Christiansen was about to die in his bed.

The words hit Credence like a physical blow. He knows their truth, but the memories of slow touches and gentle words still linger. This man is so much like the Mr. Graves he knew before-- still brusk, still self-assured to the point of arrogance, but with a vein of dry humor where only darkness lurked before. He still sets Credence’s heart pounding, and Credence wonders if he got what he deserved for his sins.
Or, in which Credence goes looking for the man who betrayed him, but finds someone else altogether.
