Summary
Throughout the Richard and Camille episodes there was always that special spark, that chemistry.
Did he? Did she? Would they? But it was Series 2 Episode 1 that ended with the mix up over who was the blind date. That, in my mind removed any doubt as to their mutual yearning and desire. So, I wrote a small story that had them finally have a meeting of the minds. It's been five years since that meeting, and upon a rereading, I concluded that I had no better Valentine to offer in these troubled and confusing times than a repost of a sweet meeting of two characters that we all love. O/P -

Richard is going to be babysitting Rosy. Richard leaves with Fidel, Camille goes to the table where her date waits. Richard looks back and Camille looks at Richard. There is a moment where their eyes meet, and one wonders ... what next?

In my cannon, Richard has been on Saint Marie for almost four years. He and Camille have been married for fourteen months. In that time, they have gone undercover as performers on a cruise ship and foiled a plot to pillage Saint Marie for the financial benefit of an evil criminal cabal. And then they had an interesting encounter with a couple of female pirates, who would become their friends and the benefactors to the island. And then they were involved in the rescue of Margot, led by her incredible four-year-old brother Tomas. so here we are, the whole wedding party and some new friends and family, preparing for the exciting year ahead.

It is the June Solstice, and the movers, shakers, and those people who carry a great deal of influence on the island of Saint Marie have come to eat, drink, and make merry at the annual, Formal Summer Solstice Dinner Dance and Charity Silent Auction at the Mount Esme Science observatory and Visitor Center. The Commissioner requires that the ‘Team’ attend as part of their community outreach responsibilities. They must bring a spouse or date! Richard and Camille decide they will pair, so as not to be distracted from their duties by entertaining a date.
The Commissioner further complicates matters by inviting Richard's old Cambridge chums, James and Sasha Moore, Angela Birkett and Roger Sadler.
The festivities may grow deadly. ... And no sign of Harry! -
