Summary
The cold muzzle of his blaster pressed firmly against the back of the woman’s skull.
“Don’t move.” he said, his voice flat and unyielding through the modulator.
The room stilled.
Grogu started making happy noises, his stubby arms stretching out toward Din, the forgotten meal slipping entirely from his attention. “Buuh,” he grunted, repeating it over and over, eyes bright.
“Buir?” the woman’s voice was soft but measured, a question aimed at Grogu. The child’s gaze flicked to her, then back to Din, repeating the sound with a nod of his wrinkled head.
She let out a long sigh, the motion slight, almost imperceptible against the muzzle. Her accent carried the rhythm and cadence of Core Worlds— It struck him as entirely out of place here.He didn’t like her speaking Mando’a.
Din pressed the cold metal harder against the back of her skull, testing her resolve. She said nothing for a few heartbeats.
Then, finally, she spoke.
“So… you’re the reason my child is wearing chainmail.”

“Are you going to bill me for drawing up the contract?” Din needles,
“No. We can't have any evidence of… this.” Luke levels a look at him. “You know we're going to have to lie to everyone, right? I don't want to get caught up trying to remember who knows the truth and who doesn't. Can you do that?”
“Can you?” Din counters, “-your sister won't be able to tell?”
“...she has her hands full with my nephew,” Luke says,
Din snorts.
“What?”
“Are you prepared for everyone at the office thinking we're together?”
“Why is that funny? This was your idea!"
“I know, I'm fine with it." Din says "-Just looking forward to you getting read the riot act by Kenobi, that's all.”

Because the Universe thinks it's funny, Luke and his colleague, Mando, are both going to the same wedding. And because the Universe has decided it's pursuing a career in comedy, they both have their own reasons for needing a date to it.
The most logical course of action, obviously, is that they pretend to be dating and attend together.

Summary
You are Poppy, resident slave on the Colosseum station, famous for its broadcasts of incredible gladiatorial feats and its yearly tournament, all organized and run by your master, Nero. His Arena promises fame, glory, and anything one might desire to those who survive, and agonizing, violent, and very public execution for those who fail. When a stranger arrives and demands to be allowed to compete, Nero assigns you to work with him, in the hopes that you will be able to keep him under strict control.
A/N: Poppy is described as able-bodied with dark red/auburn hair, which is long to begin with and later cut short. I have tried to keep all other physical descriptions to a minimum, as usual! Please read the tags for additional warnings, and remember that only you are responsible for the content you consume online.
A/N 01/05/25: I just changed the title, not any of the content! I wanted all my fics to have cool titles, and 'The Gladiator' was always meant just to be a draft title, but I panicked when I was posting it.

Summary
Severus Snape survived the war. He’s not thrilled about it.
Life after Voldemort was supposed to be quiet, preferably nonexistent, and certainly not filled with other people’s problems. Instead, Severus finds himself in a most unfortunate predicament—saddled with an unwanted role as a healer for someone who, much like himself, would rather not be here at all.
His patient is fragile, infuriatingly difficult to keep alive, and far too comfortable with her own mortality. And yet, against all logic, she’s also someone he doesn’t entirely hate. Which is concerning. Very concerning.
Trapped in a house where the furniture has too much personality, the house-elves are far too enthusiastic, and the family is distressingly nosy, Severus must endure the absolute worst fate imaginable—human connection. And if that wasn’t enough, it turns out that fate has cursed him with something even more insufferable: a very long, painful (frozen) slow-burn.
Sarcasm is exchanged like currency, reluctant care turns into something neither of them dare name, and Severus is faced with the most horrifying realization of all—perhaps life isn’t quite done with him yet.
