Summary
When they land on the couch, beers in hand, Eddie’s face almost hurts from smiling. He’d known that he missed this, but hadn’t realized how much until he doesn’t have to miss it anymore.
“Oh! I have a surprise for you,” Buck says out of nowhere, cutting himself off in the middle of a sentence about his neighbor’s ugly garden decor. His smile, which had been bright and easy a second ago, turns sharp and teasing, and Eddie knows that Buck is about to do something stupid. “I was bored this afternoon.” He turns on the TV and starts fiddling with his phone. Eddie knows it’s going to be something ridiculous and over the top, because it’s Buck, but he absolutely is not prepared for what pops up on the TV when Buck connects his phone.
“Jesus Christ, Buck.”
Buck has the audacity to laugh in Eddie’s, now flaming red, face.
“Sex education is important!” He says cheerfully. “Ahem. Pay attention, there’s a quiz at the end!”

“Buck, I didn’t ask you to be a groomsman at my wedding because I was kind of hoping you’d be the groom. I want you to be the one standing with me at the altar.”
Shaking his head, Buck pushed himself out of his chair. “Hold on. What?”
Eddie smiled, a soft little grin that made Buck’s knees feel weak.
“I guess you get a two-for-one special today, Buckley,” Eddie murmured. “I’m gay and so in love with you that it, quite frankly, makes me feel crazy.”
Buck froze. He’s not sure there was anything else he could’ve done at that moment. What the hell was happening right now?
“I’m sorry,” Buck muttered, holding a hand up between them. He screwed his eyes shut. “Can you repeat that?”
OR: Eddie comes in to work one day, planning his future wedding. It pretty much ruins Buck's life.

"Sure," Eddie agrees. He'd thought romance was flowers and always looking hot for the other person when he and Shannon started dating too. Of course, he'd been seventeen, not twenty-six, but whatever. At least Buck was getting there in his own time.
Buck gives Eddie a taste of what casual intimacy with another person feels like. Eddie struggles with the loss of it when Buck cuts him off.

Eddie shoves a legal pad and a pen against Buck’s chest. He sits next to Buck, so close their thighs touch.
“Write your contract,” Eddie says.
“Our contract.”
“Such a romantic.”
This isn’t romance, though. But Buck doesn’t want to remind Eddie of that, because he might take the legal pad—or, more importantly, the promise of Buck getting to touch his body—away. So Buck scrawls Buck and Eddie’s Friendship Sex Contract.
Or: Eddie and Buck strike up a friends with benefits arrangement. Every good understanding needs a contract. And a detailed list of likes and dislikes, while they’re at it.
