“Huh… I guess we were gone for a while.” The initial shock quickly gave way to understanding as Stelle remembered the total communications blackout she and Dan Heng had faced on Amphoreus: no contact with the wider galaxy was possible back then, so it was only natural if some of her friends got worried and tried contacting her.
Those speculations, however, were quickly proven wrong as one name in her list of contacts stood out with an icon showing at least several thousand unread messages. She stared, surprise filling her being as she tried to understand the reason behind this. How could this be? How could she have so many unread messages from someone who had been with her on this journey every step of the way? Not to mention that he simply wasn’t the type to write so much.All of those messages belonged to Dan Heng.

Stelle can't help the small, almost sad laugh that bubbles up her throat. “Y-Yeah… And if you even try to go back on it, I'll… I'll tape our hands together.”
Dan Heng's chest rumbles with a quiet, exhausted laugh. His tail flicks lazily against her leg, like he's agreeing with her. "Tape our hands together," He repeats slowly, voice thick with amusement and something softer underneath.
A pause. Then he tilts his head down to press a kiss to the tip of her nose before murmuring, "Do it then. I'm not against anything at this point.”

The rock collides, the world turns black.)
How do you cheat death?
