Summary
The hardest part is the setup. It takes a lot of finesse and dozens of emails, but eventually Danny sets up an art exchange. It’s much like the pen-pal project but instead, it’s a sketchbook that two promising young artists will mail back and forth.
There’s not exactly a guide on how to contact your long-lost twin who thinks that you’re dead. Of course Danny knows that Damian went to live with Father – it was impossible to miss and Danyal drank in the sight of his brother like an oasis in a desert. He followed every news story he could about his brother and kept a close eye on the Waynes in general. As soon as his brother had social media, he’d followed those too.
But watching from a distance wasn’t enough. It’s a risk driven by sentimentality and longing, years of expecting another person next to him like a binary star system only to find again and again that he was drifting alone. Still… Damian had been with Father for nearly three years and had settled into life outside of the League, just like Danyal had.
Maybe… if they’re very subtle… maybe he can have his brother back. Just a little.

Summary
Danny is figuring out this super hero thing one step at a time and with so many heroes around, surely someone would be open to having a ghostly apprentice - or at least show him the ropes. But maybe what he's really looking for is someone to relate to and maybe Red Hood isn't the safest choice, but there's very credible rumors that he's died before...

Tokoyami walked into Hawks office to bid him goodnight (and advise him to sleep as well) when he stopped dead in his tracks. His heart skipped a beat before pounding double time.
His mentor was sleeping peacefully on the couch, facing the back with his wings slumped towards the floor. Being used as a lap pillow and gently running his hand through the number two hero's hair, was Dabi.

He would be, but all he can smell is burning sand, metal, jet fuel, and glass. There’s not a thin trail of smoke being desperately wafted away from the smoke alarm but a smog shimmering with heat that he has to move through because he still hasn’t caught Toomes and everything hurts because he’s been crushed and punched and crashed on the outside of a plane and-And he’s in school.
