He took in the sight of his friend for a few more moments, hearing his irregular breaths against the sound of the storm, before drawing in his own breath to speak out.
“John, it’s time to wake up.” Sherlock hummed, careful to approach the doctor. He took a few careful steps over just to be at arm’s length.
