What was the right answer here? Should he lie? Or confess that his feelings were still there, that his hopeless heart had blinked out the Radio Demon as its new port and stubbornly refused to change course?
Alastor fiddled with his coffee mug, fingers shaking. “... knowing what
h̴̡̪̒̈́ẽ̵͠ did, do you still want me?”When Lucifer realised he had fallen in love with Alastor, he had no plans of confessing his feelings. The Radio Demon had been through enough; he did not need more complications in his afterlife. If Alastor found out, it could end their friendship.
Still, perhaps some good can come of it, even when it’s difficult.

Summary
Charlie took a deep breath. “We believe Vox committed suicide. The Vees have given their statement. They say he became increasingly unstable during his campaign, but snapped after Alastor tricked him into breaking their deal. The suicide was not premeditated, but impulsive.”
Alastor tried to force himself to move, but the electric signals firing in his brain weren’t reaching his limbs. He wanted to scream, but the air was trapped in his chest. Every cell in his body was dying, the blood stagnating under his skin, unshed, unwept. He turned the words over in his head. Suicide. Dead. Vox is dead. Vox committed suicide. Dead, dead, dead. Vox is dead? Dead. Suicide. He killed himself. He’s gone. Dead. None of it stuck long enough to process. The moment the thought entered his mind it flitted away like a bird, clean and transparent and intangible, little ghosts sliding through his fingers.

Or, an alternate ending to S2 where everything is the same except Vox dies before Valentino can rip his head off. Alastor is left alone to deal with the aftermath and confront what Vox actually meant to him, and why his loss is so devastating.

Vox grabbed a fistfull of Alastor’s coat and dragged him to the entrance of the alley.
“Let go of me, you insolent picture bo-!” But Vox shoved the matchbook in his face, cutting him off. Alastor’s eyes naturally crossed as he tried to focus on the words. Caesar’s Palace stared back at him. Right under, in gold lettering read Fabulous Las Vegas, Nevada.
“Welcome to Sin City, asshole!” yelled Vox.
In which Lucifer accidentally sends Alastor and Vox on a one way, all expense paid trip to Fabulous Las Vegas!
As living mortals.
