Summary
Nothing quite prepares Rachel Dawes for the first time she officially meets Selina Kyle.
Obviously, Rachel had known of Selina for a while now. It was hard not to when Selina was always mentioned in passing by almost everyone in Bruce’s life. But Rachel had never heard Bruce mention Selina, not even in passing.
As a practitioner of the law, Rachel was no stranger to the notion of being silent when you had nothing of value to add to the conversation. And while she found it somewhat strange, she reassured herself that that’s what Bruce’s silence meant, that he had nothing else to say where Selina was concerned (that the wave of uneasiness that washed over her whenever Selina’s name was brought up was unwarranted, that the look on Bruce’s face was just a figment of her imagination). And that’s what Rachel told herself for the longest time.
Until now.
Or: A look into the second year of Rachel Dawes and Bruce Wayne’s relationship, when Rachel finally realizes that no matter who he’s with right now or in the future, there’s always going to be something between Bruce Wayne and Selina Kyle.

Or perhaps it was the little things - reading Fire Nation plays by the turtleduck pond as the setting sun painted the water gold, stories and legends traded like treasures beside a crackling fire in the unending night of the South Pole.
Or it was in the whispered tales of mothers and siblings and uncles and gran grans - each shared word a delicate thread pulling them closer and closer.
No matter how one thing was sure- they were no longer strangers, a thorn in each other's paths. Neither friends nor foes, neither warm nor cold but something in between. Somehow, somewhere along the way, in their dreams and only in their dreams, Katara and Zuko found each other.
In other words - Katara and Zuko start meeting each other in their dreams and shenanigans ensue.

Summary
Sokka falls out of contact after leaving for the Earth Kingdom to find work and Katara sets out to find him. Traveling the continent alone without any clue as to the location of her brother, Katara discovers through an encounter with an angry spirit that she has a gift for healing and, therefore, a way to make money and survive in a harsh foreign land. Zuko, meanwhile, has scoured the map for six grueling years searching for the Avatar, who is said to no longer even exist, and finally arrives at the furthest corner of the world—the South Pole—where he sets off an explosive conflict that will either be his death or his salvation.
