Birchum starts to be more liked by the students, he's marking them down less, and barely makes them do any work. Karponzi notices this and goes to congratulate the teacher on his progress. He and Birchum hadn't been interacting much in the last few months so the change in his demeanor is much more obvious to him than everyone else.
ON HIATUS -- I fell out of love with the plot I was writing. If this gets taken off hiatus, multiple chapters will be reworked. I apologize to everyone who liked this fic, I just can't keep up with writing it.

Summary
Grace doesn't have a very good estimation of himself. He has no idea how much people genuinely like him, especially (most) of the people involved in this project. Ikukhina meets him, finds him adorable, and immediately decides to adopt him. Yáo is the only one who can even somewhat contain her but finds himself also somehow adopting Grace in the process.
Then Grace wakes up with amnesia.
What happens when Grace remembers he was sent against his will? What happens when he still meets Rocky first, they still have to go to Erid, and now the three of them have to duke it out for custody/best friend rights of Grace?
Updates every other day and has a heavy focus on the initial trio friendship before Rocky shows up, so it'll be a while before we meet our favorite alien spider rock

I published a post on Tumblr about Grace accidentally proposing marriage to Simon when he gives him a sprout, and this leads to Simon thinking that they are happyly married, while Grace thinks that having a human friend is awesome.

On what was supposed to be a quick round trip back to Earth for good food and eventual end-of-life care, The Hail Mary manages to get sucked through a worm hole.
Ryland Grace wakes up from his coma alone, with no memory, and a ship that is very angry about being tossed around and not having stars to navigate with.
At least he remembers his name, this time. And there are real, alive people orbiting a weird exo planet!!! Too bad they're kind of evil.
Somehow Simon, waiting on the deal that will earn him his freedom, is even more confused than the crazy guy he's supposed to get information out of before he goes.
Grace just really, really wants to go home.
Or: The BloodyMary fic where I take the Iron Lung Horrors TM and make them deal with it together before they get that sweet PHM-style hope

When Grace first wakes up on the Hail Mary, a lot of things don't add up. When Rocky mentions a secret room that isn't even shown in the ship's blueprints, Graces starts to slowly figure out that his past life might be a lot more complicated than he first thought.
They find that perhaps one of the cruelest ways to force someone to be a hero is to make their life worthless.
