    Shane feels something crack open in his chest so violently it almost takes him down with it.

    Ilya turns his head slightly. His eyes land on Shane and Shane knows, this is it. This is the moment, where it either comes back or it doesn't.

    "I know you," Ilya says.

    The relief hits Shane like a wrecking ball. Shane actually laughs, a broken, breathless sound as he drags a hand over his face.
