I deeply love Okami and have a very big soft spot for early Assassin's Creed and their characters. A good doggo goddess and her encounters with three assassins across time...

Bookmarker's Notes
This is a lovely little piece I found way back in the day that recently made the port over to here. Jigen is a touch menacing, a little unsettling and a great reminder of how scary he can be when you strip the series inherent comedy away. It's not all dour though.

There is something visceral about how I can hear 'eyes on me' in Aizawa's exact cadence and tone that I connected with instantly throughout this fic.

Two very straightfoward no nonsense characters in an honest story. I really love how Tsuya is able to parse the complicated nature of helping without preaching about it. There's something very straightforward about her nature that I think Bakugou would get along with really well.

I have a soft spot for these stories that explore the quiet aftermath of major events and this story does a wonderful job of that. Bakugou comes off as not too young and not too old which is a hard thing to pull off for his character. Aizawa as part substitute parent and fellow hero is pitch perfect.

You’re working by yourself again.
Which, which is fine! Really, it is!
And you’re, you’re used to it by now, which is good, because that means you don’t have to feel sad or lonely or anything like that, because this is normal.

There's something about this limited perspective piece that deeply makes me feel the same way I did playing the game. As tragic as most things are in this series it's also wonderfully written.

I might be slightly obsessed with the absolutely ON POINT editing in this film but that's because it was a HUGE reason why the film was so good. This is a lovely coda to Fallout that I could see in my mind with perfect clarity and which did not have flowery descriptors. It's lovely.

Leon and Carla have Elliot's back.

Bookmarker's Notes
My favorite side character in Mr. Robot is Leon so I tend to gravitate towards stories with him. Stay for the lovely depiction of Hot Carla as more than just an exotic “character” for a prison story. It’s not a super deep moment but more than she gets in the series and lines up with some readings and podcasts about the transgender community in prisons.
Elliot’s voice is nicely in character as well.

The long years Foggy had waited, some days he felt they had pulled his heart out of shape and all his love, his hopes, his promises were mangled, imperfect things that were not nearly fine enough to give away. But the boy he had fallen in love with at the age of twelve was here, looking strong and beautiful and so willing that it made Foggy’s chest hurt, and it was time to make a gift of himself, no matter how damaged he was by age and salt water.

The 1602 Marvel comics had their ups and downs...Gaiman's writing is absolutely great in the first..subsequent books seem to never quite hit that height. This I would argue is a GREAT example of what you can do when you keep Gaiman's writing as your north star compass point. I love the slow burn here...I don't particularly have any dire need for pairings in writing but when you can get me emotionally invested in the arc I can love just about anything. Excellently researched, super well written and keeping strongly in the style of the 1602 run while incorporating aspects of the Netflix run. Highly recommended.

A look at Kraglin's life, his rise to First Mate, and his relationship with Yondu Udonta and Peter Quill.

Bookmarker's Notes
I don't know that I ever really considered Kraglin that much in the films before Vol. 2 but I really like the ideas presented here and in a few other iterations I've seen...Kraglin as not much older than Peter Quill but also a kind of surrogate big brother/steady hand first mate. It's a nice expansion to the MCU headcanon and this is bolstered by some really solid character work anchored in emotion as much as in plot and action.

Summary
A series of interconnected oneshots/multichapters detailing what happens during, in between, and beyond the three movies. Mostly Ahkmenrah and Larry-centric, but in no way are the other characters ignored. I'm doing my best to write them in consecutive order, but I may not always be successful.

A lovely short self contained set of stories spanning some of the more interesting ideas that were never explored in the films. Larry and Ahkmenrah are wonderfully realized here but also grow into more full expressions of themselves that the film didn't explore.

Summary
If Elliot knew that Mr. Robot had let you in – whether inadvertently, or by design – he might consider it important. Or perhaps the moment itself wouldn’t be important, just another bright drop into the well of missing time he’s trying desperately to fill. Perhaps it would anger him, a further violation of his trust in you, another test of madness or reality, and he would spill that moment to the floor, bleeding it out through the cracks in his mind. You wouldn’t know. You’re just an observer.
Elliot wakes up after the events of the Season 2 finale.

Bookmarker's Notes
Ever wanted to see second person done REALLY well? This remarkably skilled writer managed to put us in the seat of Elliot's imaginary friend (us the audience) so well, almost as organically as the show would do. Spot on characterizations round out this story that's likely AU by Season 3's start but worth your time anyways!

Bookmarker's Notes
Both Leon and Elliot's voices are clear, precise and remarkably hurt comfort filled in a fandom (and frankly a series) that doesn't focus on that much. I have a soft spot for the characterization of Elliot as asexual but even if you don't like that, this is still really nice stuff between compelling characters.

Bookmarker's Notes
The aftermath of that whopper of an episode ending, featuring a wonderfully in character Elliot who just wants to do the right thing and can't figure out what that is. I particularly love how he seems to be trying to figure out if he's broken or not for how he feels. It's wonderfully on par with how the series would go if it had the time in my mind.

Bookmarker's Notes
Though brief glimpses into the lives of Elliot and Angela, this as a whole feels very true to the series. In particular the way in which time is distorted or compressed so you're not quite sure when each of these moments is happening. It's just like the series in that regard in a wonderful way.

As I am from New York and remember fondly trips to the Queens Museum I truly appreciate the research that went into getting all the landmarks right here. A quiet moment for two characters who seem to never get ones in the actual series, it's a lovely kid fic that has a dreamy anxiety that would slot perfectly into this great series.

January seventh. Seven days since the start of 2015, and seven days since his father’s death.
The bastard, he thinks bitterly. The past year Derek Hale had made it blatantly obvious that he hated his scrawny guts, taking every given opportunity to shove him up against a wall, growl threats in his ears and roll his eyes whenever he stepped into the room, muttering some snide comment about how spastic or idiotic he was.
So why did he fucking volunteer to take him in?

Intimate, in depth and emotional with absolutely jaw dropping amounts of work put into it (both the writing and the illustrations). While I was never super deep into this fandom this story transcends that. The mark of a great read.
