Summary
After the Nogitsune possessed him, Stiles was deeply traumatized. He mentally killed two of his friends and believed everyone would recover more easily if he stayed away, so he moved in with his family in NYC. As an only child, he felt less isolated among cousins with whom he shared many similarities. However, leaving Beacon Hills didn't mean he wasn't a magnet for the supernatural.
If Stiles had a talent, it was getting into trouble, and he moved to New York City just a few months before the Alien Invasion. Fortunately, the world wasn't entirely defenseless in the face of such threats, thanks to the rise of superheroes and vigilantes. Stiles became one of those vigilantes himself, known as Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man. He used his powers to do good, protecting friends and honoring those who lost their lives because of the Nogitsune.
Being a superhero can be tricky because the Gajos Family is notoriously nosy, and Stiles' cousins seem almost like clones of him. Working part-time at the Gajos Deli and hiding secrets from his family leave him very anxious. However, the possession permanently changed Stiles' body, and there’s another surprise the Nogitsune left behind that takes nine months to deliver.

Summary
After Peter Hale's death, things should have gotten simpler for Stiles and his friend, but they only became more complicated. During the confrontation at Hale Manor, Peter offered to bite Stiles but, despite his wishes, did so anyway. Weeks later, Stiles is scared because he hasn't noticed any effects. He thought he'd be a werewolf or dead by now, but Lydia doesn't seem affected either. He couldn't keep his composure anymore, as his anxiety overwhelmed him—he's been unable to sleep. His best friend might as well have believed Stiles disappeared, since he was always with Allison. If any werewolf had been nearby, they would have sensed it. It's not that the bite wasn't working; it was just slower and quieter than expected.
Scott detects another wolf on Stiles, signaling a new pack that has moved in while Stiles was alone. He experiences a tense, jealous feeling at the thought of Stiles being with another wolf, and Stiles' scent makes him feel wild. To Derek's surprise, the pack includes some of his siblings and packmates he believed had perished in the fire. Derek questions why his siblings would involve themselves with Stiles, and his hesitation is understandable, considering his family’s history of betrayal.
