“Alright,” he says.
“My bedtime should be pushed an hour later, too,” Leia tries and her aunt laughs and tells her to go do the dishes.
When Leia is twelve, she organizes all of the children of local farms into a union. Their parents think they’re kidding until they hold their first strike.

Ursa may have been a lot of things, but she was not a naive woman. On the contrary, she noticed lots of details that people usually missed. Rubbing hands, discreet glances, strained smiles. So many gestures could be the tell for a lie. This was a particularly useful skill in the Fire Nation palace: it made her hard to manipulate. Her mind was a locked room to which the key was well protected. Unfortunately, that skill was not useful in protecting others from manipulation. That meant, when Ozai started pitting their children against each other, Ursa noticed, but didn’t know what to do.
____________Ursa cares more about Azula. She tries to distance her from her father’s manipulations. That changes some things.

The basilisk biting her in the arm sure seems like a bigger problem, except it turns out to be a solution in disguise. When she collapses on the floor outside Professor Dumbledore's office, it's not because she's dying. It's because she's transforming into a naga. Beautiful, serpentine, very female, and lethal to the Horcrux, which dribbles out of her forehead as black nasty goo. She couldn't be happier except for just one thing: naga are illegal in Britain. She has to flee, or be executed.
But, then, she has a lot more problems to leave behind, and Norway sounds like an absolutely brilliant place to begin her second life.

When discussing the "failed mentor" trope in Star Wars, our minds naturally drift to Obi-Wan and Anakin, or perhaps even Ahsoka and Anakin (though, all in all, Anakin was actually a great master to her). However, if we look at the bigger picture, we can trace this lineage of failed apprentices back to the oldest masters. Yoda failed Dooku; Dooku failed Qui-Gon; Qui-Gon, in a sense, failed Obi-Wan; and Obi-Wan, unsurprisingly, failed Anakin.
