Summary
After graduation, Jackie Taylor and Shauna Shipman leave for college believing distance is something they can manage. Rutgers and Brown are only a few hours apart, close enough for phone calls, cassette tapes, and the comforting lie that nothing has really changed between them.
By November, that lie has started to crack.
Shauna comes home from Providence harder to read and quietly relieved by the freedom of being unknown. Jackie returns from Rutgers unsettled by how easily people drift, and by how much she still expects Shauna to be there. They keep reaching for each other out of habit, but every call carries something neither of them knows how to name.
When old routines begin to fail, what remains between them starts feeling less like friendship and more like grief.

Summary
Three and a half years after closing the Hellmouth, Faith is doing good. She’s living in Cleveland, taking care of her dog, and showing a new Slayer the ropes. There’s just one tiny problem. Three and a half years after closing the Hellmouth, Buffy finally has a minute to breathe. She’s back in Cleveland, taking college classes during the day, taking turns guarding the Hellmouth at night, and even mentoring a new Slayer on the side. And then there’s the matter of Faith, who she just can’t seem to stop thinking about.

Ava can see it now, Sister Beatrice is probably some old hag who sucks on lemon candy and smells like feet. She’s going to hate Ava the moment she sees her.

I’m speechless at how quickly she managed to completely turn the situation in her favor. I've never seen this side of her before. It's not like I know her well but.. how could someone have this hidden inside of them? Maybe Sue truly isn't an empty opera house. A hallway of mirrors perhaps, reflecting what everyone wants to see. A crystal clear pond that runs too dark and too deep.

“What?” Yelena pants out.
“Every time we argue and your eyes get a little darker, this is what I imagine us doing.”
