Summary
Vetinari drew in a slow breath and the assassin leaned his chin on his shoulder. One of his hands drifted down from Havelock’s wrist and stopped over the fresh bandage.
“Does it still hurt?” he asked.
“Not for a long while.”
“Then why do you still have this? It’s been more than a month, it must have scared already.”
Downey and Vetinari talk about feelings. For the prompt “Stop calling it a mistake. It wasn’t.” by zakalwe-the-ninth.

“I am at loss regarding what ‘everything’ you are referencing.”

Summary
“You’re slurring your words,” Vimes said, then looked him up and down. “You’re bloody drunk, aren’t you?”
Vetinari opened his mouth to argue but saw Sam’s expression. “Is it really that obvious…? To other people, I mean.”
Vimes shrugged. “I don’t know, but I’ve known you for five bloody years, sir.”
Vetinari is poisoned at a party in Genua and things get messy much quicker than expected. For rabb-te's prompt “I’m not going anywhere. That’s the part you keep forgetting.”

Summary
“Right,” Vimes said, vaguely. “Great. I’ve broken the bloody patrician.”
Vetinari threw him a baleful look, and Vimes straightened and sighed. “Okay, come on. Get into bed.”
“I do not require ‘spooning’,” Vetinari groused. “Whatever that may be.”
“If you don’t know what it is,” Vimes said in an annoyingly reasonable tone, “you can’t argue you don’t need it.”
Vetinari wondered at what point Vimes had apparently become so logical.
“It sounds unpleasant.”
“It’s not so bad. I’ll even let you pick which spoon you want to be.”
Smut! Banter! Vimes attempting aftercare!
Narvine requested Vetinari being hit with some sub drop, so here we are.
Follows on from Taming the Beasts, but a fair bit less angsty than that. It can probably be read as a stand-alone, because it's largely smut and there is enough context to get the gist of what's going on, I think.

Summary
"For the most part, the Patrician did not allow visitors. Even with those people who he was confident he could trust, to the extent that he trusted anyone (Downey and Ridcully, for example), it did not seem wise to allow them to see him as depleted as he was. He was safe as long as he was useful and his life did more good than harm – even if that continued to be true, any seed of doubt may be watered, and in time come to germinate into something far more dangerous.
Someone had tried to kill him.
D’Eath and Cruses were dead, but there would inevitably be others."OR: After being shot with the Gonne, Vetinari struggles to know who to trust, how to avoid danger, and how to come to terms with his injury. A threat could come from anywhere; except from Vimes.
