Dante never let anyone in. Not really.
He could flirt. He could charm. He could indulge in every fleeting desire without a second thought. But genuine affection, the soft, persistent kind that found the cracks in his walls, he met the way he met every threat: the gates came down, the locks turned, and every chain drew tight.
And now that he had Vergil and his family back, he definitely didn't want anyone else.He told himself it was mercy. That he was saving her from himself.
He never anticipated the cost. That what he did, what he carelessly allowed to happen, would come back to find him with no excuses left and nowhere to run.

Summary
Dante never wanted kids; he refused to make the same mistakes his father did, and dooming the life of a child that had never asked to be brought into the world to begin with was definitely one of them. However, accidents happened. The devil hunter had gone for his usual strawberry sundae when he met a little girl who shared an uncanny resemblance to him.
Now he had to deal with the trials and challenges of taking the role of father of a girl who is as chaotic as the rest of his family, and who was being pursued by an old family enemy, one he wished he never needed to hear from again.

Summary
One year after Vergil and Dante dove headfirst into hell, Nero has been defending humanity. He's gotten stronger, dispatching the final demons in the remnants of Redgrave with ease. But no matter how much he tries to distract himself, he can't help but stare at V's book and wonder:
'Will they ever come back?'
Meanwhile, Mundus is planning to return. He's been gathering his forces, and something interesting has caught his eye. Thin, glowing blue strips have been appearing in hell at random. Portals. Hundreds of them. They are small at first-just scratches-but as they slowly devour the reality of space, they will grow wide enough for his entire army to invade the human realm and He, the Prince of Darkness, will truly become a King of all.
But what power is this from? It feels like Sparda, but different. The twins are trapped here, so it can't be them. Plus the Yamato can only work in a single dimension at a time, it can't be the bridge.
Mundus shows his teeth in a knowing, wicked grin. "So, there is a third."
