I pause and we all look towards Jesinia who blushes while Ridoc translates for her. He says while signing, “Well, at least we know you make it out alive.”

After rescuing Xaden from the Sage's clutches, Violet tries to keep his condition a secret. But as Xaden refuses to feed, the hunger begins to consume him. His eyes turn red, and his behaviour becomes increasingly erratic and violent. They can't hide it much longer. There's only one solution.

"You think I don’t want to?” Xaden's tone sends a shiver down my spine. He assumes such a predatory stillness that my heart stutters. “You think I don’t fantasize about sinking my teeth into you every time I make you blush? Dream about the places your blood rushes every time I turn you on? I want to all the damn time, Violence,” he growls. "That's the problem."
