Summary
The demon Crowley is not fond of cats, for good reason. He was the Serpent of Eden, and cats are a natural enemy of snakes.
But now the angel Aziraphale has taken in a stray cat, and it has placed a wedge between the two. Will Aziraphale choose the cat over their long-term friendsh… er, association?

“You got a cat?” Crowley’s mobile mouth worked, his lips pulling back in apparent distaste. “Have you forgotten about me and cats? Cats and me, more like. You know cats don’t like me!”
”Quite, I do recall, although I don’t think that occasion was necessarily indicative of how every cat might feel! And regardless.” Aziraphale straightened his shoulders and lowered his tone by at least an octave. “I did not get a cat. It simply… happened by. And,” he continued in a rush, his voice rising again, “it was raining, and cold, and she’s expecting….”
