Summary
Please, he'd said to her, as she'd stormed out of the villa on that final night. Please. As if Neve had been the one withholding something. As if he didn't know exactly what she needed in order to stay.
He had sent her one letter shortly afterward, but after Neve returned it unopened he hadn't tried again. She hasn't seen him in nearly a decade. Hasn't heard his beautiful, infuriating voice.
But now the door to the back room opens, and Lucanis fucking Dellamorte, First Talon of the Antivan Crows, steps through, his hands clasped nervously as he comes to a halt in front of her desk.
Lucanis wants to make amends. Neve has a lot of anger to work out.

"Ah," Dorian says, smiling fondly as he follows Emmrich's line of sight. "I recognize that look. It's the same one I used to have while watching the Bull from afar, I'm sure. How fascinating, to see it on someone else."
Emmrich's determined not to let his infatuation with Rook get out of hand (and failing miserably). Dorian's too insightful for his own good.

Summary
Rook sighs as she lowers herself into the bathtub and the intense heat immediately begins to soothe the tension in her muscles. The water is slightly shimmering with oil, fragrant with rosemary and chamomile and bitter orange, and hot enough that it almost feels cold when she first dips her foot in.
In short, it's perfect.
After several months away, Rook is finally coming home to Emmrich, who is eager to welcome her home properly. He has a Plan, and Rook is delighted to go along with it.

Summary
Commander Shepard tosses the datapad to the side and finally gives Garrus her full attention. He's always had excellent posture, as all turians seem to, but now his spine is incredibly straight, his limbs held in a careful parade rest and his gaze focused resolutely ahead, not flicking down to look at Shepard even as she eases the second button on her shirt open. He's wearing a uniform she doesn't recognize; based on the insignia near the shoulder she suspects it's one he wore on Menae when out of armor. It looks good on him, charcoal grey with a few rust-orange accents, and she stifles a smile at the thought of him dressing up for this. This night is for him, but he's still doing something small to please her.
"Don't linger at the door, Vakarian," Shepard grumbles. She nods meaningfully at the space in front of her chair. "Report."
Garrus lets one of his long-held fantasies slip. Shepard is happy to indulge him.

Summary
A collection of letters sent between Rook and Emmrich in the months between the Evanuris' defeat and her arrival in Nevarra. The distance is difficult, but the letters help. (Other than the fact that Rook has no privacy to speak of and Emmrich is, at times, distractingly open about what he would like to do with her if she wasn't so far away.)
