    Walking back into his living room with a mug in each hand, Xie Lian had to fight to keep his face neutral as he took in the state of his friend.
    Mu Qing was sitting on the couch, legs tucked underneath him and half-hidden by the two blankets he’d wrapped around himself. In his arms, the man was hugging a pillow along with one of Xie Lian’s old, worn shirts. His face was barely visible over the blankets, still red and flushed - and accompanied with a glare so thoroughly pissed off that Xie Lian hurriedly pulled his own gaze away.
    “Shut up,” Mu Qing hissed. “Shut up, shut up, shut up, shut up.”

    In a world full of alphas and omegas, Xie Lian is a beta. He doesn't really get what his friends are going through, and he's not sure if he wants to know, either.

Much to his relief, the boys believed him wholeheartedly and swore themselves to secrecy. A short time later, they returned to their homes, leaving Xie Lian alone to sit with his festering guilt as it begged him to answer one pressing question: What happens next?

    Either he needed to get himself pregnant, or come up with a believable enough story as to why he wasn’t.

    A jealous outburst and a dangerous lie lead Xie Lian down a rather unorthodox path to obtaining a baby of his very own.
