“If you leave now you'll no longer be a Malfoy,” his father shouted, drawing his wand and pointing it at Draco's chest.
“Good,” Draco shouted back, his left hand forming a fist around a slip of paper bearing his Aunt's address.
His mother grabbed at her husband's arm, tears flowing down her cheeks. Draco took one last long look at her, then closed his eyes and twisted on the spot. He disapparated with a crack.
A disinherited Draco Black (formerly Malfoy) returns to Hogwarts for an optional eighth year having transferred to Ravenclaw. He's completely unaware that a certain bushy-haired, muggleborn witch has also been granted a fresh start in his new house.

The year was 2002. Theo was banging on Hermione’s door to her flat, demanding to be let in. She rolled her eyes as she scrunched her hair with a towel, swinging the door open. “What?” She said without even looking at him.
“It’s Draco,” he panted. “They’ve seized the Manor, Narcissa’s wand has been taken and they’re taking him to Azkaban right now!”
Hermione dropped the towel in shock. “What? They can’t! The hearing isn’t until tomorrow!”
“Something happened, he’s been sentenced, Granger,” Theo spoke, his jaw trembling. “He’s been sentenced to five years.”

Summary

“Stay still!” He commanded, inches from her face, and she obeyed.The logical side of her mind was screaming that she had no reason to listen to him and that she should struggle harder. But his hands were warm and positioned so hers didn’t scrape against the damp and dirty brick, even as she tugged at them. His body was close enough for her to feel the heat radiating from him, but not close enough to brush against her. He was in complete control of the situation, and she had none. And even if she thought it should make her anxious, like all lack of control did, she locked eyes with him and relaxed.
“Good girl.” He said calmly.
