The thing about Gotham in tourist season was that it transformed into something unrecognizable.

It was as if all strength had left his limbs. His arms trembled, unable to support his weight much longer. The pain between his legs now spread toward his torso and ribs, deep and dull, like a giant bruise expanding beneath his skin.
His arms gave way under his weight, and he crawled backward, leaning awkwardly until he was half-seated against the tree trunk.
Jason thought the nightmare was finally over.
Still dizzy, he lifted his head.
And the world seemed to stop.
With his eyes wide open, Jason sat up abruptly to stare in shock at what had emerged from his insides.
Soon, he discovered with horror that his nightmare was only just beginning.
Because between his bloodstained legs, resting on Roy’s bare hands—still wet and small—lay the body of a baby..
