“Eren.”
He jumps in his seat, body not listening as he tries to turn to face the source of the voice. All he can do is sit there, staring at Jean - his traitor of a friend getting more amused by the second - before fingertips tickle the nape of his neck, forcing a shudder through him, and he leans back into the feeling. The fingers gently tug at his hair, making Eren tilt his head back, eyes blinking owlishly back at Levi.
“I have to cancel tonight,” he sounds regretful, like he’s missing out on more than just tea with a friend. It makes Eren feel giddy, to think the captain values their time together so much. “I’ll make it up to you.”
And there’s the confusion again. Eren furrows his brows, opens his mouth to ask a question, but Levi strokes the back of his neck once more - turning Eren to putty in his very capable hands - before he turns, leaving the mess hall with Hange.
“What the fuck?” Jean hisses out once the captain is out of earshot.
