Dean has never been a religious man; he actively goes against the Lord's word. He’s a hunter for fucks sake. Killing is a part of the job, running away from the law, impersonating anyone and anything for a quick tip. He’s “prideful” and “greedy,” as his father used to say. It was always Sam who believed in John’s bullshit. Sam was pushed into staying in line, not wanting to “cross the line the Lord drew”.
