Summary
Yuna is a mother.
One day, when Shane decides to hang the skates, and Yuna no longer has to politely (and sometimes not-so-politely) intimidate brands on his behalf so he doesn't get shortchanged by men in badly tailored suits who complain about DEI hires to their white golfing buddies in equally badly tailored suits behind closed doors, she'll still be his mother.
She's obviously many other things besides that—a cunning businesswoman, of course; a killer Yahtzee player; David Hollander's loving wife; a longtime and sometimes long-suffering Montreal Metros superfan; someone who doesn't quite like waking up early and only ever drinks coffee for the energy boost. She’s all that and more.
But she's Shane's mother.
It's hard to shake that.

Summary
“What if somebody sees us?” Shane protests, but he’s tilting his head, giving Ilya access to more salty skin.
“Scandalous,” Ilya murmurs, kissing up to Shane’s ear, taking a second to tug on the lobe with his teeth and smiling when Shane’s breath hitches, “A married couple kissing in their own house.”
“Oh, is kissing all you’re thinking of doing?” Shane asks, pretending to be coy as he buries a hand into Ilya’s hair. “Is that all you want?”
Ilya feels like a fucking dog in heat, ready to clamp his teeth on Shane's shoulder and fucking hump his thigh until he comes; ready to turn him around and fuck him right there in the hallway for anyone to see, cheek to the wall and knees shaking as Ilya mounts him like a fucking animal.
“Let me show you what I want,” Ilya replies, hoarse and drunk off something much stronger than the champagne and the vodka he had.

“Why did we let Harris rope us into this?” Shane mutters as he fidgets with the unbuttoned collar of the shirt underneath his half zipped jacket, and then fiddles with the first button for a bit. “Should I button it up?”
“If you want to look like a boring accountant, sure,” Ilya replies, taking Shanes’s hands into his own and kissing his knuckles. He looks up at his husband through his lashes, playing coy, and is satisfied to see a dusting of pink on his cheeks as he looks down at their hands. Ilya keeps his lips pressed to Shane’s hand as he says, “We let Harris do this because he is smart and amazing at his job, and because Yuna says it is ‘good for our public image’, makes us seem ‘approachable’.”
There’d been more than ‘seeming approachable’, of course: with the specialized media in a frenzy over Shane leaving the team that drafted him and that he’d captained to not only back-to-back Stanley Cup wins but to a third one just the season prior following his being outed as both gay and being involved in a long-term relationship with Montreal’s public enemy n°1 on top of that, they had needed to do something to control the narrative, to sway the public in their favor.

“We have to leave.”
Rei is still, eyes fixed on a panel with no speech bubbles. He doesn’t look up, he doesn’t say anything. Kazuki licks his lips and—feeling like his own heart is trying to do him in before Rei’s dad has the chance—adds, “Miri and I. We can't stay—I have a guy, he can get us out through—”
At that, Rei does look up. His eyes are narrowed, intense, as their gazes meet.
"Miri and I?" Rei repeats, toneless, and Kazuki swallows around an uncomfortable lump in his throat.
(Or: shit hits the fan, and life altering choices are made.)

Wei Wuxian’s eyes are drawn to the seed, small and unassuming, and then back up at the merchant with the kind eyes, whose smile has grown, a hint of amusement in the tilt of his lips.
