“Lily, please--” Eda gasped out to her as she was dragged toward the door. “Don’t let him touch them.”
Lilith frowned, moving forward to follow in confusion. “Touch who?”
“My kids!” Eda yelled as a hand on Lilith’s shoulder stopped her from following. “Don’t let him touch my kids, Lily!”

Lilith failed to realize that her sister was a mother until it was too late. Despite all of her wishes to have her sister cured so that they could be in the coven together, she knew that it was no place for children. Lilith's need to make things right overrules her need to have her sister at her side.
That's what makes her finally disobey the Emperor.

The moment after Hunter had revealed his name to Luz, the shot of magic Kikimora fired out of nowhere had ended up knocking the Golden guard unconscious, and Luz had to act fast to pull him aboard the hand-dragon for their escape with the palismen.
He's brought back to the owl house where he awakes with his injuries cared for, and find he's more or less being held hostage. However, when he can't act like a soldier, the boy acts very strange-Or-
What if Hunter was a freshly made grimwalker? Conceived as a fully developed 10 year old, therefore only having been technically alive for about six years. His rushed creation and minuscule life experience means he's noticebly.. different then Luz and Eda expected him to be.
