Jason woke up. That in itself would not be unusual, except for the fact that, last time he checked, Jason was dead. Very much so.
Jason blinked, hard, as laughter filled his head. Then he leaned over the side of the bed and promptly vomited. Nothing came up but bile, but it was still very unpleasant. He looked up, hair hanging in his face, and froze as he made eye contact with himself in a mirror across the room. That wasn’t his face. That wasn’t his body.
Jason wakes up in a body that's not his. Tim Drake's body. And if he and Tim's body are here, where is Tim and Jason's body? Maybe six feet under.

Summary
Tim wasn’t a cat person. He wasn’t a dog person either, for that matter. It wasn’t that he disliked them - animals were great in the way that they didn’t expect conversation - rather, it was that he was bad with them. He was bad at communication with humans, and they (mostly) used their words, so he had a hard time figuring out what an animal wanted from him. Unfortunately, this didn’t seem to matter when he opened his eyes and found himself staring at two paws instead of hands.
Tim finds himself in a spot of trouble, and, in an unrelated turn of events, Jason adopts a cat. These things are related in the way that the Batfamily needs to work on their detective skills.

“Wait.” Jason dropped his phone on his lap. “No fucking way. Is this an intervention?”

“So, Timmy. Let’s go over the plan one more time before we head into the lions’ den.” Jason waved his hand encouragingly. “Go on. Tell me.”
“I’m spoiled, rich, yet clever Tim Drake. You know, me, but darker. I’m following Jack and Janet’s footsteps in the darker parts of Gotham, namely trafficking, both human and substance. You and I have worked together before on smuggling, but we’re not super close.”
“Good job.” Jason ruffled his hair in a distinctly condescending manner. “Remember, you’re a rich bitch, not Red Robin. You don’t know things. You’re new to this. Kinda like Brucie Wayne, but meaner. You cannot be too confident in there. Arrogant, yeah, but not confident.”
“I know, Jason. Relax.”
Jason had told Tim to follow the plan. And Tim hadn’t listened, and this was going to be bad, because everyone around him wanted blood and - so did Jason.
This was not going to go well for Tim. He couldn’t stop it. Not for the mission, not when it was Jason. Not even for himself.
Tim messes up. Big time. And it's up to Jason to teach him a lesson while salvaging their cover.

And with that, Hood snagged Tim’s staff from his hands and smacked him across the face, much softer than he could have, but still painful. “And I’m going to teach you a thing or two. Won’t last long like this, will ya? The other one didn’t.”
Tim bared his teeth and lunged, but Hood sent him to the ground with a shove at the right moment. Tim tried to get back up, but there was a boot on his back, holding him in place just as well as the kris suddenly pressing against the back of his neck.
“Now, now, Replacement. You should play nicer with your new tutor. I’m gonna let you up, nice and slow, and show you some things. You’ll thank me later.”
“You know,” he murmured, blinking up at Jason, “I never did get to show you the grade for my essay.”
Jason decides he'll do his Replacement a favor - a painful one - and teach him what a Robin should know. (The one time Jason was found.)
